As the number of cases continues to increase, the Odisha government declared a 14-day lockdown on Sunday. According to an official order issued today, the lockdown will be in place from May 5 to May 19, 2021.
Between 6 a.m. and 12 p.m., people will be able to buy important goods within a 500-meter radius of their homes. They will only be able to access medical care on weekends.
“The lockdown is primarily aimed at regulating movement of common people. No restriction has been imposed on goods carriers,” the order said.
