A new record is set by Rohit-Shikhar in the first one-day international between England and India

In the 1st ODI on Tuesday, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan put on a 114-run partnership to help India beat England by 10-wickets.

Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma have reached the 18th century of ODI partnerships, falling short of Tendulkar-Ganguly and Dilshan-Sangakara.

Virat Kohli is Rohit’s partner for the same number of century stands.

Rohit Sharma chose to bowl first after India won the toss. By dismissing Roy, Root, Bairstow, and Livingstone on a pitch with a tinge of green, Jasprit Bumrah broke England’s batting lineup.

Except for Jos Buttler, no England batter showed any resistance. Despite that, the skipper too was removed by Mohammed Shami, who claimed two more wickets as India bowled England out for 110.

In 32 deliveries, Buttler scored 30 points for England. Ultimately, Bumrah finished with six wickets for 19 runs, and Shami added three wickets for 31 runs in ten overs. The skipper stepped on the gas and started playing shots after Rohit and Dhawan started cautiously chasing 111. Rohit played a number of successful pull shots for the first time in a long time.

In contrast, Dhawan took his time and played anchor. He was playing his first international game in a long time, looked rusty, but hung in there to help his team win. Dhawan played a perfect second-fiddle, scoring 31 off 54 deliveries to help India win the match. Rohit finished with 76 off 58 deliveries.

Obviously, Bumrah was the man of the match and he broke a number of records in the process. After a performance of a lifetime, Bumrah shattered and created these records. The next match between India and England will take place at Lord’s Cricket Ground on July 14.

The England playing XI consists of Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, Craig Overton, David Willey, Brydon Carse, and Reece Topley.

A team of Rohit Sharma (c), Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (w), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Prasidh Krishna will play their first international game together.
