A terror module has been busted by the Patiala police, nail two

Two alleged terrorists were arrested, and weapons were seized from their possession, foiling a major terror network. Besides them, three others who provided logistic support have been arrested.

As a result of the arrests of Pritpal Singh Giffy Batra and Gurdev Singh Preety, the CIA, Patiala, broke up the terror module.

Patiala SSP Deepak Pareek said that three weapons were recovered (two foreign-made 9 mm pistols and one .32 bore pistol with ammunition). In addition to Honey and Nikku, two other suspects have been arrested for allegedly sheltering the two terrorists.

A 32 bore pistol was recovered from Kamaldeep Singh Alohran, another suspect arrested by the CIA, Patiala, earlier in September. His interrogation revealed that he, along with Pritpal Batra, had bought some foreign pistols in Pathankot near the border. Our team arrested Batra on October 1 from a rented apartment.

Honey was also involved in terrorist cases, according to CIA in-charge Shaminder Singh, and he was the brother of main accused Sandeep Singh. Gursharan, the other suspect, has been proclaimed as a criminal in separate cases in Ludhiana and Bathinda, he said.

Patiala police had retrieved two phones from Gurdev Singh after he was brought on a production warrant from the Faridkot jail. “He is the brother of a terrorist based abroad, Gurmeet Singh Bagga, who is an accomplice of Khalistan Zindabad Force chief Ranjeet Neeta. According to the police, Gurdev Singh had lived in Pakistan for five years and was jailed in 2019 for a drone-recovery case.

Among the accused in this case is Babatra, who operates a chemist store in Nabha. The NDPS Act also charges him with various other offenses. The investigation is ongoing,” said Pareek.
