A total of 2,500 cops will be recruited in Punjab: CM Bhagwant Mann

Bhagwant Mann announced on Thursday that the Police Department would begin the process of filling around 2,500 posts.

According to the Chief Minister, the Punjab Police will recruit around 2,500 more cops to augment its workforce to effectively maintain law and order, as well as deal with unforeseen challenges, as part of the ongoing process of providing employment for the youth in the state.

There are 1,156 constable posts in the intelligence and investigation cadres, 787 head constable posts in the investigation cadre, and 560 sub-inspector posts in the investigation, intelligence, district, and armed police cadres. The constable exam will be held on October 14, the head constable exam on October 15 and the sub-inspector exam on October 16.

A total of 4,374 constables have already been appointed by the state government, according to the Chief Minister. The recruitment process is being conducted transparently according to Mann, who reiterated the government’s commitment to providing employment for the youth.
