An officer in Hazaribag district said four people were killed when the bus they were riding turned turtle. Another 25 people were injured.
According to Superintendent of Police Manoj Ratan Chothe, the incident occurred late Saturday when the bus driver lost control of the vehicle while making a sharp turn near Bahumar. It is about 110 km from Ranchi, the state capital.
Mostly pilgrims were aboard the bus on its way from Gaya to Odisha via Hazaribag, he explained. The injured have been taken to Hazaribag Medical College and Hospital, where their conditions are listed as “serious”.
