In Fatehgarh Sahib district, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has offered 1,000 acres to the Government of India for the establishment of a textile park under PM MITRA.
A letter to Union Textile Minister Piyush Goyal expresses the Chief Minister’s desire to set up this ambitious project on Fatehgarh Sahib’s sacred land.
According to him, Punjab will become the country’s ‘textile hub’ once the project is commissioned. A high growth trajectory of industrial growth is also expected to result from the project, according to Mann.
On one hand, the ambitious scheme will help attract investments and on the other, it will provide new opportunities for youth employment. As a result of Government of India approval, 7 apparel parks will be set up across the country in collaboration with state governments. According to Mann, the state government was ready to set up a textile park at Fatehgarh Sahib under this scheme.
According to him, we will continue to adhere to all environmental standards set by the State Pollution Control Boards and the Centre.
As a part of the PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel Parks Scheme, seven apparel parks will be developed in partnership with interested state governments across the country.
