According to Commissioner of Police Arun Pal Singh, a five-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed three days after Shiv Sena (Taksali) leader Sudhir Suri was assassinated.
In Amritsar on Friday, accused Sandeep Singh shot and killed Suri during a protest.
“The assistant deputy commissioner of police had a word with the SIT team about this case and said the investigation should be carefully conducted,” Singh said during a press conference.
Sandeep Singh was a ‘self-radicalized’ individual who got the idea about the crime from social media, Singh said. While being asked about the ISI-Khalistani link by Republic TV, he kept mum. According to Sudhir Suri’s family, Amritpal Singh, a pro-Khalistan hardliner, committed the murder. Amritpal was also accused of giving death threats to Shiv Sena leader Suri before his death.

Police are accused of covering up the matter by BJP spokesperson RP Singh. The NIA and other agencies discovered a link between Canadia-based gangsters and killers in Sidhu Moosewala’s case as well. According to RP Singh, Pakistan-based pro-Khalistan leader Gopal Chawla has already predicted more deaths in this case…They are trying to hide them.
