It is common for people to seek jobs in which they can earn money by doing something. How would you feel if you got paid to do nothing?
It may sound unbelievable, but this is true. The majority of people will feel gratitude towards this type of job. Shoji Morimoto, 38-year, is a Tokyo resident. Despite doing nothing, he gets paid.
It is almost impossible for Morimoto to do anything in his companionship business. The salary he receives is Rs. 5,679 (10,000 yen) per hour. Besides serving as a friend, the 38-year-old Tokyo resident will follow clients. According to him, he has managed about 4,000 sessions over the past four years.
The number of followers he has on Twitter is close to a quarter of a million. According to him, he found most of his clients there. One of them has hired him 270 times, accounting for around a fifth of his business. All household expenses are currently covered by Morimoto’s companionship business.
It was claimed that he saw one or two clients a day, but he failed to disclose his income. Each day, he had three to four clients before the pandemic.
According to Reuters, “I basically rent myself out to my clients. I go wherever they want me to go and do nothing special.” Prior to starting his companionship business, he worked for a publishing company.
