In western Bengaluru on September 7, an 85-year-old retired employee of Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) was found dead at home.
It is suspected that S Mahadevaiah was murdered in RR Nagar 2nd Phase, 5th Stage, where he lived. Jayamma N, a retired bank manager, filed a complaint with the police accusing her husband of murder.
In a decomposed state, the body was discovered. After days of not seeing Mahadevaiah, neighbors went to his house. When they knocked on the door, there was no response. His body was found in the bedroom after they peeped through the windows.
As a result, the police were called and Jayamma was alerted. As of September 8, Jayamma had arrived in the evening. A couple of valuables were scattered inside the house. Property documents, gold jewellery, and cash were missing from the cupboard, Jayamma said.
