SGPC chief and November 9 candidate Jagir Kaur seemed uneasy after being expelled from the Shiromani Akali Dal on Monday. It would be impossible for anyone to oust her from the party due to the fact that her roots are so firmly rooted in it.
I have been expelled because my participation in meetings and decision-making have been restricted by the expulsion orders they have issued against me. As a member of the Panth, I will serve the community. The former minister of the SAD said that such orders don’t change anything practically for him.
Despite my efforts to bring about some radical changes to the Akali Dal and change its perception, some people in the party were not pleased with my leadership. Our party chief Sukhbir Badal has been surrounded by people who are actually not his well-wishers. Eventually, all of them will leave him as things worsen. Jagir Kaur, who chose not to name the people who led to her ouster, advised Sukhbir to keep his eyes and ears open and not be misled.”
She said that contacting the disciplinary committee today was pointless since the whole process had been a farce. The party has now threatened to prevent me from contacting its workers. They are terrified of what? ”
She continued to appeal to SGPC members to come out in her support in the Wednesday elections for the SGPC chief. “All members must realise that this is one opportunity for them to make the Sikh religion stand above petty politics. I expect most members to side with me and come out sincerely in my support for the ‘chardikala’ of the Panth. When I will enter the sacred place of Guru Ramdas on November 9, I am sure he will shower all his blessings upon me and help me create history.”
