BJP leader to be killed in ISIS suicide bombing in India detained by Russia

A member of the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist group had been detained by the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) who was planning a terrorist attack against ‘India’s leadership elite’ to avenge insults to Prophet Muhammad.

Detained ISIS recruit said during interrogation he was supposed to be given things in India so he could “commit a terrorist attack at the behest of the IS”.

In a statement, the Russian Federal Security Service identified and detained a member of the Islamic State international terrorist organization, a native of the Central Asian region, who planned to blow himself up against a representative of Indian ruling circles in order to commit a terrorist act.

The detained ISIS bomber, who was recruited between April and June of this year in Turkey, was indoctrinated remotely via Telegram, according to the Russian security agency.

It has been established that a foreigner was recruited as a suicide bomber by one of the leaders of the ITO “IS” while on the territory of the Republic of Turkey between April and June 2022. A representative of the terrorist organization indoctrinated him remotely through Telegram accounts and during a personal meeting in Istanbul, according to a statement by the Russian security agency.

Therefore, the terrorist swore allegiance to the Amir of IS. He was then ordered to leave for Russia, complete the necessary documents, and fly to India to commit a high-profile terrorist act,” the FSB said.

Islamic State (IS) and all its manifestations have been notified as terrorist organizations under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.

The Union Home Ministry reports that IS propagates its ideology through various internet-based social media platforms. Agencies concerned closely monitor cyberspace in this regard and take legal action if necessary.
