Chandrasekaran assures Tata Sons Chairman that India is well positioned to become a $5 trillion economy

Natarajan Chandrasekaran, chairman of Tata Sons, said India’s economy would grow to $5 trillion by 2022.

“Don’t worry, India is extremely well-positioned,” Chandrasekaran told Rishi Darda, joint managing director and editorial director of Lokmat Media. The economy of America, Europe, and Britain is in trouble today due to ballooning interest rates and unabated inflation..”

“These economies are creating uncertainty around the world, which will stunt the growth of the world economy. Still, India’s position is strong globally, and India is well-positioned,” observed the chairman of Tata Sons.

The state government is in constant communication with Chandrasekaran on Maharashtra’s prospects of reaching the trillion dollar mark as well.

As for the rupee depreciating against the US dollar, Chandrasekaran said, “It is true that it is declining against the dollar, but other currencies are as well. However, we cannot ignore the fact that the rupee has done well in comparison to other major currencies around the world.”

Chandrasekaran said Air India is currently working on human resources, technology, maintenance, and safety. However, their primary goal is to become the leading airline in the world where Indians can fly anywhere in the world.

Chandrasekaran’s reply to the question of what special values were instilled in childhood that enabled the three brothers to achieve such great success touched the heart of middle-class India. When Chandrasekaran was asked about his upbringing, he said that he too had a very simple upbringing, but he scored 100 in math.

As he concluded, the chairman of Tata Sons exuded confidence that despite the unsteady world market, India will emerge from it safely because its rural and urban economies are large, its consumer economy is strong, and it is growing as a result of the development of its infrastructure.

While speaking about his childhood and family, the Tata Sons Chairman left the audience speechless.

During his interaction, Chandrasekaran also shared a light moment with Lenskart founder Piyush Bansal. In a fanboy moment for Piyush, who looked like a disciple looking to learn from his guru, Bansal said, “You have built a huge company like Tata Consultancy Services, what can I do?”.
