Congress’ Chintan Shivir: Rahul Gandhi met party workers at Chittorgarh Railway Station this morning on his way to Udaipur for the party’s Chintan Shivir.
Manickam Tagore, Congress MP for Chittorgarh, posted the video. “Our congress leader #RahulGandhi is being greeted by congress workers and local leaders,” he said.
Upon stepping off the train, Rahul Gandhi was greeted by party workers and leaders with flowers and slogans as he folded his hands in greeting. During the party’s three-day ‘Chintan Shivir’, Gandhi, along with some senior party leaders, boarded a train for Udaipur from Delhi’s Sarai Rohilla railway station on Thursday. In addition to welcoming the former Congress chief, coolies at Sarai Rohilla station discussed their concerns with him.

In order to attend the session from May 13 to May 15, many Congress leaders, including Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and former Union minister Jairam Ramesh, had booked two bogies on the train. As a result of a string of electoral defeats and dissension within the party, the Nav Sankalp Chintan Shivir is taking place over the next three days.
The Shivir will focus on time-bound party restructuring, finding ways to combat politics of polarisation and getting battle-ready for upcoming electoral challenges. About 400 delegates will discuss subject-specific issues within six groups. The discussions will continue on the first and second days of the conference and the conclusions will be documented in the form of a declaration, which will be discussed at the CWC meeting on the third and last day of the conference.
