Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann visited the house of singer Sidhu Moosewala days after his shocking murder in Mansa (Punjab).
Mann visited the bereaved family in Moosa village to show his condolences.
Outside the residence of Moosewala, there was heavy police presence.
A day after Punjab’s state government curtailed his security cover, Moosewala was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Mansa district on May 29.
He was accompanied in the jeep by his cousin and friend, who were also injured.
Several people held a protest in Mansa on Friday against the Punjab Police for allegedly barring them from entering Moosa village with heavy security ahead of the visit by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
According to the police, anyone entering the village has not been stopped.
Moosewala’s house was also protested by Gurpreet Singh, a member of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party.
There were also anti-state government slogans chanted.
We cannot get into our village with our cars. Our relatives’ vehicles are not allowed in,” a villager claimed.
To calm the situation, senior officials of the administration and the police arrived at the scene.
Punjab ministers Harpal Singh Cheema and Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal paid tribute to Moosewala’s family on Thursday in Mansa.
