After the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced its ‘Kejriwal guarantees,’ which included regularizing contractual workers, the Congress retaliated by demanding regularization for all Delhi government employees.
In upcoming local body elections, Arvind Kejriwal has promised regular jobs to all contractual employees working for the municipal corporation.
As promised by Arvind Kejriwal, over 55,000 Delhi government contractual workers are awaiting regularisation of their jobs. The Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president Chaudhary Anil Kumar said that many workers are waiting for Kejriwal to fulfill his promise, including teachers, bus drivers, conductors, Delhi Jal Board employees, and many others.
There are still thousands of contractual workers awaiting confirmation as regular employees of Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC). The Delhi government is frequently protested against by many of these workers, whose contracts have been terminated.
A decade of fake promises will be made by Arvind Kejriwal in the next two years. Instead of regularizing our jobs, our contracts were terminated. Manoj Sharma, a member of the union of contractual DTC employees, said that the union opposes Kejriwal on every possible platform.
