Congress is undivided over Adani, BJP misleads people: Rajasthan CM Gehlot

In response to Gautam Adani’s promise to invest massively in Rajasthan, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot stated that the Congress is not divided.

A BJP question asked Gehlot last week why he accepted investments from an industrialist Rahul Gandhi had attacked since Gehlot shared a stage with Adani during the two-day “Invest Rajasthan Summit”. Adani’s “close ties” with the BJP have been often questioned by Gandhi. “We don’t divide people on the basis of whether they are members of the BJP or the Congress.

Gehlot clarified on Sunday that whoever brings investment will give something to the state. It is the government’s responsibility to approve it.Additionally, he warned that the opposition BJP would pay a heavy price for misleading people.

BJP leaders are misleading people, they have to pay for it,” said the chief minister, in reference to Gautam Adani’s Rs 60,000 crore investment.

A proposal by Mr Adani of Rs 60,000 crore was made to Rajasthan. No chief minister would refuse such a proposal. He told reporters in Karnataka, where he is leading his Bharat Jodo Yatra, that the Rajasthan chief minister did not use his political power to benefit Adani or his business.

Over the next 5-7 years, Adani Group is planning to invest Rs 65,000 crore in Rajasthan to build 10,000 MW of solar power capacity and create 40,000 direct and indirect jobs.
