In a letter to Delhi’s lieutenant governor VK Saxena, seven Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislators demanded an inquiry into AAP allegations of attempts to buy its members of Parliament.
Arvind Kejriwal was asked by the BJP MPs to reveal the names of those who approached his deputy and MLAs to switch sides.
According to the MPs, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, deputy CM Manish Sisodia and other AAP leaders made malicious, false, misleading and diversionary statements in the public domain that AAP MLAs had been offered a huge amount of cash to switch to the BJP when they were called by the BJP.”
An investigation into the matter was demanded by BJP MPs Ramesh Bidhuri, Parvesh Sahib Singh, Manoj Tiwari and Hans Raj Hans at a press conference on Wednesday.
A northern Delhi MP, Tiwari, said, “Manish Sisodia, whose phone was seized by the CBI, said he received a call on his personal number and was asked to switch sides.” We want to conduct a forensic investigation. What time did he receive the call? What number was it? They are misleading the people of Delhi.”
A bribe offered to an elected official is punishable, according to South Delhi MP Bidhuri.
Bidhuri said the AAP should share the names of people who approached their MLAs and offered them money to join the BJP. FIRs must be registered against such individuals.
Singh criticized Kejriwal for holding a trust vote in the Delhi assembly, saying the CM does not trust his own party members.
The CM wants a trust vote despite 62 MLAs. This is nothing but a drama to distract attention from the liquor and education scams, Singh added.
