In honor of Diwali, the Delhi Metro has rescheduled its schedules. All Delhi Metro corridors will have their last train service at 10 pm from terminal stations on Monday, according to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). On regular days, it is routinely scheduled at 11 p.m., the DMRC said.
In a tweet, the Delhi Metro said trains will run on all lines at regular commencement times during Diwali.
During the construction of the Janakpuri-RK Ashram metro corridor, the Delhi government approved the removal and transplantation of 316 trees last week.
It has been proposed by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation that a new corridor extend from Janakpuri to RK Ashram be built. During construction of Phase-Four of the Delhi Metro, these trees got in the way.
Today, Arvind Kejriwal announced that a new metro corridor between Janakpuri and RK Ashram had been cleared. In exchange for removing and transplanting 316 trees that obstruct the project, DMRC will plant 3,160 more trees in exchange.”
