Four military personnel’s remains have been recovered from the wreckage of an Arunachal Pradesh helicopter

Arunachal Pradesh’s PRO (Defence) Tezpur announced that four of the five military personnel aboard the ALH WSI Army helicopter that crashed on Friday have died.

One remaining member of the team is being searched for.

Helicopters took off from Lekabali at 10:43 am and crashed in Arunachal Pradesh near Migging (South of Tutting).

Immediately, the Army and IAF launched a joint Search and Rescue Operation, which included one MI17, two ALH, and three columns of the Army.

It is not yet known what caused the crash.

“There were 5 people on board, and the team has recovered the mortal remains of four out of the five, so far. At this point, the cause of the crash is unknown. Details are being gathered,” the PRO said.

A rescue team has been rushed to the scene of the accident, Jummar Basar, Superintendent of Police Upper Siang, told ANI over the phone.

Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang district was the site of a helicopter crash earlier this year which claimed the life of an Indian Army pilot.
