The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Saturday that rainfall activity is likely to increase over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and sub-Himalayan West Bengal for the next five days.
Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Karnataka continue to suffer heavy rains with extreme showers in some districts. A red alert has been issued for two districts in Gujarat, and a yellow alert has been issued for 14 districts in Maharashtra, according to the weather office.
Central Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, coastal Karnataka, Assam, Meghalaya, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala have experienced heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours. Heavily rained areas were also observed in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Odisha.
Several states are expected to experience heavy rainfall over the next five days, according to the IMD. Weather office has forecast heavy rainfall over interior Karnataka, west Madhya Pradesh, and Vidarbha on 16th and 17th, coastal Karnataka, Konkan, Goa, and Odisha on 16th-18th, east Madhya Pradesh on 16th-19th, and Kerala and Chhattisgarh during 16th-20th July.
During the next five days, rainfall is very likely in central Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, as well as over Gujarat.
In Himachal and Uttarakhand, the IMD has predicted very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall on July 19th and 20th.
