Pokhara airport fuel tanker overturns near runway

A fuel tanker overturned near the runway at Nepal’s Pokhara airport on Tuesday, disrupting flight operations.

Pokhara Airport spokesperson Devraj Subedi said that the flight service will be disrupted for a while after a fuel tanker overturned near the runway and spilled fuel.

The spilled fuel has not caused any damage, Subedi said.

Subedi said that Yeti Air and Buddha Air had returned to Kathmandu after being unable to land at Pokhara International Airport.

The overturned tanker is being lifted by crane near the runway.

Tara Air’s passenger plane with 22 people, including four Indians, was destroyed in a crash on Sunday minutes after taking off from Pokhara airport.
