Govt likely to announce 7th pay commission DA hike during Navratri

According to media reports, central government employees who have been waiting for the government’s announcement on Dearness Allowance (DA) will hear some good news on the auspicious occasion of Navratri, i.e. September 28.

As of yet, no official announcement has been made by the government regarding the probable date.

The Dearness Allowance of employees may increase by 4%, according to recent media reports. Accordingly, there could be as much as 38% DA overall. In addition to the increase in Dearness Allowance, employees may receive arrears for the months of July and August as well. The June All-India CPI-IW suggests this month’s DA will increase.

Dearness Allowances are revised twice a year for central government employees. January through June is the first period, while July through December is the second period.

In April 2022, the All-India CPI-IW increased by 1.7 points to 127.7 (one hundred twenty seven point seven). A year ago, the 1-month percentage change increased by 0.42 percent compared to 1.35 percent this year, according to data from the Ministry of Labour & Employment. The AICPI numbers for May are 129, according to the latest ministry reports. A strong indication of a higher DA comes from the June AICP Index. As of June, there are 129 AICPI numbers.

January 1, 2022 will be the start date for the extra payment. In accordance with the 7th Central Pay Commission’s recommendations, the increase was developed according to the accepted formula.
