As a result of a clash among members of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), two jawans were killed and two others were injured.
According to AM Sharma, the district election officer and collector of Porbandar, the jawans belong to a Manipur CAPF battalion.
A cyclone relief center in Tukda Gosa village, which is about 25 kilometers from Porbandar, housed the four Manipur soldiers.
According to Ashok M Sharma, the district election officer and Porbandar collector, these jawans are from Manipur. Gujarat Assembly elections will take place next month, so the Election Commission of India sent them here.
The jawan fired from his assault rifle at his colleagues on Saturday evening over an unknown issue. Two jawans died on the spot and two others were injured. They were taken to a Jamnagar hospital for treatment. The bullets hit one of them in the stomach and the other on the leg,” Sharma told PTI, adding that the police would conduct a further investigation.
There is still no clear explanation for the fight.
On December 1, the first phase of the election will take place in the district. On December 8, the assembly election results will be announced.
