As an undue interference in the Sikh affairs, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has rejected the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC) constituted by the Haryana Government.
It was strongly condemned by SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami as contrary to the autonomy of gurdwara management.
During the formation of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee a century ago, the British Government intervened similarly, but the Sikhs refused to accept it.
