Seven people were killed in a landslide in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh on Monday due to heavy rainfall.
There were five family members among the victims.
A landslide in the area caused all the victims to be buried alive.
In the last three to four days, Sirmaur has received heavy to very heavy rainfall. A lot of damage has been caused by incessant rains in the district.
Heavy rainfall has caused 120 roads to be blocked in the state and 90 transformers to be damaged.
It has been advised not to go out unless absolutely necessary. Heavy rain areas have been advised to be avoided.
Due to heavy rains, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and northeastern states have been hit by landslides and flash floods.
On Sunday, heavy rains triggered a flash flood in Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba district, which washed away three people, including a woman.
