Here’s how you can use WhatsApp to message yourself without requiring a separate number

As part of its effort to enhance the user experience, WhatsApp is working on a feature that will allow users to send messages to themselves. The messaging app was recently spotted working on this feature.

Sounds impossible, doesn’t it? Currently, users cannot send messages to their own numbers. With WhatsApp’s new linked feature, that seemingly impossible dream may soon become a reality.

There are times when you feel the need to jot down things to remember them later. It is easier for people to remember when they see a text message if they are using WhatsApp than the Notes app on their phones. People access WhatsApp throughout the day and it will be easier for them to remember when they are viewing it.

According to Wabetainfo, which tracks all WhatsApp-related activities, the recent update was seen. In WABetaInfo report, “messaging yourself from a linked device is one of the missing features of a multi-device system.” This will be addressed in a future update of WhatsApp Desktop beta, the report said. Before rolling out the feature to the general public, WhatsApp is currently testing it in beta.

As described in the report, the feature will allow users to send messages to themselves by tapping their personal chat within WhatsApp Desktop beta.

When users log into WhatsApp from a mobile device, their names will appear at the top of the contact list. WhatsApp has not yet included support for another mobile device in the multi-device setup, but it is in the works. Currently, WhatsApp is testing the feature on its desktop beta version, but Android and iOS beta versions will also be updated with the feature soon.

With a future update, your name will appear in the chat list of WhatsApp users using their laptops or computers. In the coming days, the feature will be rolled out after it has been tested.
