Panchayat Chunav 2022 Phase 3 Voting: Voting for the third phase of Jharkhand’s panchayat elections will be held on Tuesday (May 24), when 1,047 panchayats will be voting in 70 blocks across 19 districts.
As many as 46.94 lakh voters, including 22.86 lakh women, have the right to vote in the third phase. Four blocks in the state capital, Ormanjhi, Angara, Namkum, and Silli, will vote.
During the third phase, 15 376 posts will be filled, 12,911 panchayat members will be elected, 1,047 mukhiyas will be elected, 1,290 panchayat committee members will be elected, and 128 Zilla Parishad members will be elected. In the third phase, however, 5,950 candidates have already been declared winners unopposed.
State Election Commission (SEC) Secretary Radhe Shyam Prasad said that all preparations have been completed for the third phase of voting. The polls will open at 7 am and run till 3 pm. Polling parties have been dispatched to their respective locations.
In the third phase, there are 12,912 polling booths, 6,021 of which are sensitive, and 3,804 of which are hypersensitive.
The elections commission secretary reported that sufficient security arrangements were made for electors and polling personnel. Security personnel were deployed at all polling stations to ensure peaceful voting.
In Ranchi, the district election officer (DEO) and Ranchi deputy commissioner Chhavi Ranjan on Monday instructed sector magistrates and police officers engaged in election duty to follow the commission’s guidelines. He appealed to voters not to be afraid or hesitant to cast their votes.
The final phase of the elections will take place on May 27.
