In the last 24 hours, 1,675 fresh cases of Covid have been reported in India

Report of 19 cases in India: In the past 24 hours, India has reported 1,675 new cases of a novel coronavirus, as well as 31 deaths.

In the last 24 hours, 1,635 patients were discharged, bringing the recovery rate to around 98.75 per cent. The total number of patients who were discharged reached 4,26,00,737, according to the Union Health Ministry on Tuesday (May 24).

The number of COVID-19 active cases in India reached 14,841, according to health ministry data. Yesterday, the number of active cases was 14,832.

In India, the first death from the pandemic was reported in March 2020. Active cases compose 0.03 per cent of the total infections, the ministry said. The total death toll is now 5,24,490, the ministry said.

Up to May 22, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) had tested 84,74,99,852 samples for COVID-19. Of these, 4,07,626 samples were positive for COVID-19.

According to data shared by the city health department, Delhi had 268 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, with a 2.69 percent positivity rate.

In the national capital, a total of 9,976 COVID-19 tests were conducted on the previous day, the department reported in its latest bulletin. Delhi’s COVID-19 tally now stands at 19,03,822.
