COVID-19 India News Updates: India’s Covid case positivity rate had gone past one per cent again after over two months as the country witnessed a single-day rise of 3,157 infections and 26 fatalities according to Union Health Ministry data updated on Monday. The rise reported on Monday pushed the overall Covid tally of the country to 4,30,82,345 cases and 5,23,869 deaths -the ministry said. The number of active cases rose by 408 in 24 hours to reach 19500 -data at 8 am showed. At 1.07% for that day (up from about 1%), COVID case positivity has just surpassed one per cent again after a little over two months; it was at 11%.
According to the country’s health ministry, the weekly rate of COVID-19 was 0.70 per cent recorded on July 14th and this number has now climbed to 5,23,869 with 26 new fatalities being reported. The active cases that constitute 0.05 per cent of COVID-19 infections were also freely listed by authorities in a recent statement as they too rose from 803 last week to 829 this week; while the country’s COVID-19 recovery rates have been seen at 98.74 percent according to government records and 176 million people have so far recuperated from it in India since November 2016 when vaccine production commenced there after a long time gap between doses administered worldwide under universal vaccination programmes like GAVI (Global Alliance for Vaccines & Immunization).
The first of these COVID-19 cases in India was reported on June 3, 2020. At that point, the country had already surpassed 20 million total infections. On August 7th it crossed 30 million, 40 million on September 5th and 50million by September 16th; crossing one crore (10 lakh) at some point in December is possible but less likely due to natural immunity from previous exposure to other viruses like influenza or dengue fever; two crores were reached between May 4 and June 23rd as more people are expected to succumb due to a lack of immune response without vaccinations
