Most of the big budget Bollywood movies have not performed well at the box office this year.
During this time, many hoped that “Mr. Perfectionist” Aamir Khan would return to the big screen after a long absence. It seems that all the hopes have been dashed with the kind of response the film has received.
In a Box Office India report, the film collected just under 2 crore nett on Tuesday, bringing its six-day business to about 48 crore.
As Aamir Khan’s previous release, ‘Thugs of Hindostan’, had also tanked at the box office, this was supposed to be a successful comeback film.
One of the most awaited movies of the year was “Laal Singh Chaddha” and it was released with much anticipation. However, when the film was released, neither critics nor fans liked it, with some claiming Aamir’s performance was the 2.0 version of PK, while others complained that it failed to convey what was intended.
In addition to Kareena Kapoor, the film is directed by Advait Chauhan and is an official remake of the Tom Hanks-starred classic ‘Forrest Gump’.
