Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has taken offence to a cartoon published in a popular publication The Hindu and have demanded an apology.
Featured in their publication is a cartoon about the victory of Congress presidential nominee Mallikarjun Kharge.
The Delhi edition of the newspaper and its Chennai edition carried a cartoon taken offence by Congress leader Jairam Ramesh.
Cartoonists argue that Kharge, who won the Congress presidency by beating Shashi Tharoor, is a puppet. Since Khange announced his candidacy, speculation has been rife.
As Ramesh critiqued the cartoon, he said, “I usually take cartoons of my party and colleagues with a smile on my face. The Hindu’s obnoxious attempt to belittle Mallikarjun Kharge, one of India’s tallest leaders, is unjust and unacceptable. I hope the newspaper apologizes.”
