On the anniversary of Dr Rajendra Prasad’s birth, PM Modi pays tribute to him

Dr Rajendra Prasad, India’s first president, was celebrated on Saturday as a legendary leader epitomizing courage and scholarly zeal by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Remembering Dr Rajendra Prasad Ji on his birth anniversary. A legendary leader, he epitomized courage and scholarly zeal. He was deeply rooted in Indian culture and had a vision for India’s future,” said Modi.

Bharat Ratna Dr Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India and member of the Constituent Assembly, deserves a tribute on his birth anniversary. A great example of simplicity, service and sacrificial life, Khattar tweeted, he kept Indian values and traditions paramount.

As India’s first president from 1950 to 1962, Rajendra Prasad was born in 1884 in Bihar.

In the Independence Movement, he joined the Indian National Congress as a politician and lawyer.

On Saturday, December 3, 2022, All India Radio will broadcast the Rajendra Prasad Memorial Lecture.

From 9.30 pm onwards, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will deliver the address. Doordarshan will broadcast the lecture at 10.30 pm on the same day as every year.
