Pune now has 1,47,856 deaths, followed by Mumbai with 19,566 and Thane with 11,918.

This 6-year-old girl has given life to five people in AIIMS. She is the youngest organ donor in Delhi AIIMS history. She was shot in the head by unknown assailants in Noida and went into a coma after the incident.

Roli’s parents decided to donate her organs after her doctors declared her brain dead.

The 6 and a half-year-old Roli, who was brought to AIIMS on April 27, was shot in the head, causing damage to the entire part of her head, according to Dr Deepak Gupta, Senior Neuro Surgeon at AIIMS. Her doctors started treating her when she arrived in a brain dead condition at the hospital.

Roli’s parents agreed to donate her organs after her doctor requested that her family donate her organs.

AIIMS doctors commended Roli’s parents for their decision to donate their innocent child’s organs. Five of Roli’s organs- liver, kidney, cornea, and heart valve- have been donated to different people.

According to Harnarayan Pratjapati, his daughter’s organ donation was explained to him by Dr Deepak Gupta who said that their child could save other people’s lives. “Dr Gupta and his team counseled us for organ donation that our child could save other lives. We discussed it and decided that our daughter would live on in other people’s lives and give others reasons to smile.”

Meanwhile, Roli’s mother became emotional and said that her daughter may have died, but she gave life to others.

It was a similar case last year when Dhanishtha fell down while playing at home and fainted, becoming the youngest cadaver donor. In spite of all the efforts of the doctors, she did not improve and was declared brain dead at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi. All of her other organs, however, worked perfectly.

Five lives were saved as a result of the parents’ decision to donate their child’s organs.
