As the fifth largest pure-play quality assurance (QA) and software testing company in the world (Source: Nelson Hall) announces its intention to open a new innovation and delivery center in Mohali, the Punjab technology ecosystem is likely to be boosted. An investment of Rs 160 crore would create 3,000 direct jobs and over 5,000 indirect jobs in phases.
As the founder and CEO of TestingXperts, Manish Gupta said the company is planning to build one of the largest state-of-the-art office buildings in IT City, Mohali, spanning 2.17 acres. In addition to the existing workforce of over 1,000 in Chandigarh, this office will create over 3,000 job opportunities in Mohali and Tricity for software professionals. Punjab Engineering College alumnus Manish has roots in Chandigarh.
Most companies are focusing on development, which places the company in a niche market. It is estimated that 60-65% of the cost and effort of a large digital transformation project goes into design and development, and 35-40% goes into quality assurance (QA) and testing. TestXperts focuses its efforts and investments on QA and testing, while most IT companies focus on development services.
Our lives are powered by digital software in every aspect of our lives such as food, travel, media, entertainment, healthcare, banking, finance, telecommunications, retail, and education. It will be impossible to run the digital world smoothly without testing this software. Therefore, Mohali will play an important role in promoting the tech ecosystem.
An investment of Rs 114 crore has been registered by TestingXperts in Mohali, according to Dilip Kumar, Principal Secretary, Punjab Department of Investment Promotion, Information Technology and Industries. The investment will increase in phases to Rs 160 crore.
