Today, the district administration placed a 72-hour shutdown at Rayagada to test Covid-19 spread. The shutdown will remain in place until Tuesday morning.
District collector Pramod Kumar Behera had confirmed this.
Likewise, the District headquarters hospital’s outpatient department will remain closed for 48 hours.
The decision was taken after 164 people in the district yesterday tested positive for coronavirus.
As many as 897 people in Rayagada have so far tested positive for the deadly virus.
The district currently has 450 active cases with 440 recoveries and seven fatalities.
