A day after natural gas prices shot up by a record 40% in response to a global escalation in energy prices, India’s oil marketing companies cut the price of commercial LPG cylinders and ATF (aviation turbine fuel).
4.5% has been slashed off ATF prices.
LPG cylinders weighing 19kg will now cost less in Delhi with immediate effect after the latest price revision. Therefore, instead of Rs 1,885, Rs 1,859.50 would be charged per cylinder.
According to PTI and television news channels, the cost of a commercial gas cylinder has been slashed to Rs 1,959 in Calcutta and Rs 1,811.50 in Mumbai.
Currently, domestic cylinder prices will not change.
After the last price slash, Saturday’s revision comes exactly a month later. Delhi’s commercial cylinder price increased by Rs 91.50 on September 1, from Rs 1,885 to Rs 1,976 per unit.
LPG cylinder prices for commercial use were also reduced by Rs 36 on August 1. A reduction of Rs 8.5 per unit was made for 19kg commercial cylinders on July 6.
