On later Tuesday night, four members of a family in Delhi’s Palam area were stabbed to death in their house.
The accused, identified as Keshav, has now been arrested after murdering his father, mother, grandmother, and sister.
In Delhi’s Palam area, a drug addict kills his entire family
Around 10:30 PM on November 22, Palam police station received a call from neighbours of the victim’s family informing them that they heard people screaming. A pool of blood was found in the house after the police arrived at the scene and found four family members dead.
In addition to the parents’ bodies, the sister and grandmother’s bodies were found in their respective bedrooms. Police apprehended the accused as he tried to escape.
According to the initial investigation, the 25-year-old accused was a drug addict without a stable income source. His wife reportedly quarreled with him every day since Diwali because he wasn’t working. In addition to slitting their throats, Keshav stabbed them multiple times with a sharp object. Police in Palam reported that the accused committed the brutal act under the influence of drugs.
Further investigation is underway to find out the true motive behind the incident under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
An eyewitness to the crime said that as she returned from her shop, her cousin sister Urvasi screamed, “Brother help!”. The door was locked from the inside, so as we attempted to break in, Keshav asked us not to come inside and said it was a family matter. As we tried to enter the house, Keshav was trying to escape on his scooter as I called my relatives and the police. The police were able to catch him and hand him over to them. Upon entering the house, we discovered that everyone had been killed.
