In a rare gesture, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with his former classmate in Navsari, Gujarat, on Friday.
Prime Minister Modi spent time with his teacher from Vadnagar, Jagdish Nayak, after arriving in Navsari to inaugurate the Nirali Multispeciality Hospital. Social media users widely shared a photo of the two.
PTI reports that 88-year-old Nayak taught Narendra Modi when he and his family lived in Vadnagar town. He currently lives in Vyara in the Tapi district.
“Although it was a short meeting, I cannot describe how I felt. His feelings for me haven’t changed over the years,” Nayak told reporters at his residence. A report said that Nayak’s grandson Parth Nayak contacted the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and said that his grandfather wanted to meet the Prime Minister during his visit to Navsari.
Parth Nayak, I requested an appointment with the PMO yesterday:
“My grandfather wanted to meet Modi ji during his Navsari visit, so I called the PMO yesterday and asked for an appointment. To my surprise, the PM called me back and talked with us. He is so humble and down to earth. I met him today as well and learned a lot from him,” Parth Nayak said.
Earlier today, PM Modi highlighted India’s contribution to the global space industry and said that the private sector will play a significant role in India’s space programs.
“A wonderful chapter has been added in the development journey of modern India in the 21st century and congratulated all the countrymen, and the scientific community for the headquarters of the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Center i.e. IN-SPACe,” he said.
