Thousands of lives were saved because of his martyrdom: Father of brave J&K cop Mudassir Ahmed

Jammu and Kashmir policeman Mudassir Ahmad Sheikh sacrificed his life when he met a tragic end in the Baramulla encounter which killed three Pakistani terrorists of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) on May 25, Wednesday.

After infiltrating from across the border, the terrorists were supposed to carry out a suicide attack in Srinagar. Mudassir played a key role in this counterterrorism operation, just as he had in many other such operations in Baramulla.

At Uri, Baramulla, he was buried on May 28 at his ancestral graveyard. On Saturday, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited the family of Mudassir Ahmed in Uri and expressed his condolences to the relatives of the deceased. In handing over the check worth five lakh rupees as remuneration to his father, Sinha said that the entire country is proud of him. “The Jammu and Kashmir government is always at your service,” he said.

Maqsood Ahmed Sheikh, Mudassir Ahmed’s grieving father, expressed his emotions in a media interview. He said that he was proud of his son who sacrificed his life for the Tirangaa. As a result of his sacrifice, a thousand other lives were saved. We are very proud of him today. He is unlikely to return, but we are proud of him. My son died on the battlefield, so I am proud of him.
